🌱 Growing from Seed

Daylily seeds require a cold stratification period of at least 6 weeks before germination.

Seeds can be planted outdoors in the fall and allowed to naturally overwinter, or they can be cold stratified in the refrigerator before planting.

Daylilies grown from seed require patience. Seedlings typically need time to mature and may take 2–3 years or longer to produce their first blooms. The surprise is part of the fun—when they finally flower, you get to see what completely unique daylily you grew!
